Cupid's Lament

"I've ran out of ideas," cried Cupid
Reporting back to the Queen of Hearts

"The flowers keep dying,
The chocolates go stale,
The jewelry's expensive,
Despite being 'on sale'

And the soaps and the lotions
and perfumed love potions
give loved ones the notions
that they have a stench"

"Oh Dear Cupid you are mistaken"
The Queen replied with a grin
"For the arrows that matter the most in your quiver
Are those that strike feelings within"
