Cheers To Love
The world must become a much better place
Where more people dwell with a smile on their face
Living together in kinship and peace
A world full of hope where joys never cease.

Where more people dwell with a smile on their face
Living together in kinship and peace
A world full of hope where joys never cease.
It's time to embrace every culture,
One flock, one shepherd, one fold
Whatever our race, hue or faith
We're all made from the same mould.
in Dying Poems
When dementia creeps in through the back door,
Loving is needed, like never before...
An expressionless face, an empty heart,
Teachers proudly stand in front of the class
With knowledge and influence en masse,
Igniting a flame in curious minds
Proficiently as the lessons unwind.
God will paint rainbows in the sky
Once again for the world and I.
Signs that will tell us all is well,
Freedom from this grim living hell.
Dear Dinah,
I can't thank you enough. Your kind words have touched my heart. It's so nice to know the poets are being heard and read all over the world, that people like you are inspired by...
Wonderful poetry Taeha, your despair shows through every word you've shared. I hope one day your friend shows up, with a big, warm, consoling hug.
The poem "I Shall Not Care" by Sara Teasdale is beautifully written tho' it does cause the reader to wonder what pain and hurt she was going through at the time of writing, the thought inspired this quote from me...
"When one who supposedly loves you
classes cruelty as an art
Death may bring a welcome salvation
but it's surely better to part."
A wonderful poem Paul Laurence Dunbar wrote many years ago, after slavery was abolished.
How it must have hurt to know his parents had been slaves...
Imagine the pain that slavery brought
an inner battle that couldn't be fought.
Yet still to this day some have no liberty
for whatever reason there may be.
Shining eyes that give false impression
a wide smile hiding soul suppression
Having to wear a mask that belies
true feelings kept deep inside.
So beautiful and romantic...
"Like poets have the need to write, one needs love like this in their life."
Jenny,
Though very emotionally moving, the poem is wonderful. I do hope your cousin, like you, has been able to recover from the trauma suffered in the past and has found inner peace at last.
