About Stephen Gilson

I'm a formerly serious writer with a portfolio of past work I return to now and then.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Iowa and a doctorate from SUNY Albany where I specialized in post-structuralist literary theory, 20th century American poetry, and rhetoric. My dissertation dealt with topology in the poetry of Charles Olson, a poet who is closely associated with Gloucester, Mass. I have published poetry in small press, created and edited a short-lived magazine of poetry and articles and I've been an instructor and adjunct professor of composition, creative writing, and business writing.
