The gentle rain that won't relent, emitting all its earthy scent
A currents swirl as it commits, like whorls on God's fingertips
River nymphs in busy fare, scurry up to shed their wear
Mayflies dance and caddis pose, they're fishes fairies I suppose
And shaggy manes and fiddleheads, arise up from their winter beds
Mountain morels grey and blonde, upon the bank, are all around
Downy yellow violets hue, are entering the world anew
Spring life born, the heavens sent, yet every year they came and went
Musings And Observations Along A River In Spring
A Catskill Spring Astream

ABOUT THE POET:
I am originally from Ireland. I arrived in New York in my late teens and have lived here for over 30 years. I travel back occasionally. I enjoy fly fishing and being outdoors. I'm not a writer nor a poet however I enjoy writing nonsensical rhymes about different things that usually amount to nonsense - but it’s fun!
