Sister Poem

Special Bond Between Sisters

A girl writes about the special bond between her and her sisters. They are not always together in the same place, but they are always together in spirit. Sometimes they fight, but nothing will ever break their special bond.

Three Sisters

©

Published by Family Friend Poems July 2006 with permission of the Author.

We are three sisters.
Three sisters are we.
I love each of you,
And I know you love me.

We're not always together.
Life sometimes keeps us apart,
But we're never separated.
We're in each other's heart.

Now I know we've had our troubles,
But we always get through.
The real message is you love me,
And I also love you.

We have had lots of good times
That we'll never forget.
Sometimes we worry
And sometimes we fret.

But if God ever gave me
Something special, you see,
It might have been the blessing of
Three sisters are we.

The Lord above has given me lots
Of happiness and glee,
But the most special thing he did was
Make us sisters, all three.

I am the oldest of the 3 of us, and we have not had an easy road. I will be 30 this Aug., Amy will be 29 this Oct., and Chelsea will be 26 in Sep. Our father died in 2001, and not long after my mother slipped into a dark place that made her lose herself. At 14 years old, I stepped up to help raise my baby sister who was only 9 at the time. I do not regret the first minute of my past, because I believe it made me who I am today. The 3 of us have been through hell and back, but we are always there when push comes to shove. The years got better as we went, but about 6 years ago hell hit again. Drug addiction took ahold of my family, and we are still trying to pick up the pieces of our lives. Through it all we have managed to stay together. This poem really touches home for the 3 of us.

This story is very interesting and emotional. I am 11 years old and my elder sister is 24 years old. She is 13 years older than me. She is an engineer and I study in class 6. I love dancing, but she likes to sing. I love to do makeup but she doesn't like doing makeup. We are very different from each other.

I'm the youngest of 3 sisters. I'm 41, Michelle is 43 and Tracy is 45. I was the last to get married at the age of 35. My two sisters were my bridesmaids and they did everything to help. My sister Tracy printed 3 sisters poem for me and I cherish it. We don't see each other every day but we all know that the other one is always there. You can't break the bond x

I am also the youngest of three. The three of us are all very different in some aspects... With different gifts or assets to offer but together there is an unbreakable bond. Because of our differences together we seem to compliment each other. The LOVE is always there.

I am the oldest sister of five. I also have four brothers. Sisters are made entirely different than the boys. I found Francis' poem very reminiscent of my memories of growing up with my sisters. To say we were loved by our parents is an understatement. I am nearing my 70's but all my sisters are still very close. They are one of my most prized possessions.

I am the youngest of the three sisters this is my first time to share my story. I like your poem it made me realize how much my sis love me. While reading your poem I notice that tears were falling from my eyes. God knows that I love my sisters so much I really missed them so much. Even if we're far from each other no one can break our bond.

This poem fits so perfectly!!! We are 3 sisters. All studying in different places now. But our hearts are never apart. Me and my younger sister moved away from home in 2012. We never thought we would be apart for so long. Whenever she comes home I have my final exams and I cannot go see her. We long to see each other again.
I would give the world to be with my sisters again! They are the best part of my life.

I am number 6 of 8 sisters. Our Mom passed away July 18, 2013. We are hurting so bad. Not knowing how to grieve and the loss of our Mom put us through a trying time, our family was almost torn apart but that love of sisters never wave. We continue to try and spend time together at first, our Mom's birthday in November but problems continue to come until when we meet together in March, 2014, oh what a day!!! Thank you for this poem today. Sisters are too precious to lose... we are strong as ever.

I am the middle sister of the three of us. We were separated at birth, but, have all been reunited for the past 30 years. Our youngest sister is now so ill and will not recover. How can we bear to part with her again. The poem says it all our love for her will go on as we bear the pain of separation again.

I am the oldest of 3 sisters...there are 7-8 years difference in our ages. When my sisters were born I was 7-8 years old. I am their "2nd" Mom. Our family is praying for our middle sister as she struggles with alcoholism. Our intervention is soon and I will be reading your poem to her and I pray it will help her make the right decision - and realize she is LOVED and she is PRICELESS! and her life has meaning and hope!
Thank you

I am the middle sister. My oldest sister was just told she has pancreatic cancer. She has chosen not to take chemo. I live away from my 2 sisters, but we keep in touch a lot. My oldest sister calls me every Saturday at 9:20 a.m. and we catch up on the weeks news in our families. I'm sure going to miss her.......... and will probably pray to her at 9:20 a.m. every Saturday.

I'm the 3rd sister from four, my sisters and I were sooo close, no one could break us apart. I was very close to my 2nd big sister, but now ever since she had a boyfriend she has changed a lot, we used to stay together now she moved away with my mother, I miss her a lot we had such a huge fight because of my husband and her boyfriend. And now we are not talking, I love her so much not a day that goes by that I don't think of her, we did all crazy things we were always there for each other. We never ever fought, it's the first time that we are separated, I love her a lot and wonder if she loves me also still.

Dear Durban, Do whatever you need to do and whatever it takes to get back your loving relationship with your sister. Don't let any man break apart that sisterly bond. Tomorrow isn't promised and we only pass through this life but once. Try forgiving her, even though it's not your fault. You may not get another chance. The time is now.

I have three sisters and one brother, but lost two of my sisters in a car accident in 2012. We were the three youngest in our family and that's why this poem touched me. We often shared poetry with one another as Jean loved and wrote poetry and so this poem seems especially fitting. I miss them both so much but at least I grew up understanding the special bond of sisters. Love you both; please keep watching over me!

I am the middle sister we are all three. Six years apart and as different as day and night we fight, we make up, take sides and gang up on each other but it's always over as soon as it starts. I keep these two in my heart. And think of them everyday even thought we may not see each other as much as we like with motherhood and life keeping us busy. Our father is dying and our heart is broken to cope and deal we might fuss but in the end it will be the three of us.

I am the eldest of three sisters. I was very close to the middle one. She died suddenly and unexpectedly of malaria when she was being taken to the hospital she died on the way. I was away on a trip. She died the same day I returned from the trip. We were very close. She was a real friend and partner. Every place and everything we were together. The poem made me cry. I loved my sister and I still love her. May her soul rest in peace. Teofrida I miss you terribly. Life is never the same without you.

This poem really touched me because I'm fourteen and I have two gay friends I've known for 4 years now and we call each other sisters... We have been through arguments and fights, but at the end of the day one of us apologize to one another. There names are Destinies and Tanaya...to think I'm the youngest but I act more mature. They love me and no matter what people say they will be my sister until the day I die!!!

I'm the youngest of three sisters this poem touched my heart. My sister died on the operating table in the middle of surgery. It's been hard to cope at times! Although, I have another sister and brother, they were not as close to me as my sister Lisa. I have turned to God and my children and that's been getting me through.

It's Valentine's Day and I am thinking of my sister! I am the oldest of three and I lost my youngest sis and nephew last December in a terrible car accident. She would have been 27 this Valentines day and there is not one day that goes by that she doesn't cross my mind. At the time of our loss, I was expecting my 1st and only daughter (who I named after my sister!) she was due a day before Valentines Day...she came a few days early but every time I look into the face of my little angel I think of our angels we lost. I will forever cherish the memories of three sisters learning and growing up together! Family is forever!
This poem is awesome. Happy Valentine's day to all!!!

I am the third of four sisters. Through the years I have been very close to my sisters 'off and on'. We all live within one hour of each other. We all have our own families and our own family issues. We all have great memories of our growing up together. But in the last 20 years we have grown apart. I wish we had held on to our roots. My mom passed away last October. And now my oldest sister has cancer and the doctors say she only has weeks to live. I don't know what to say anymore. I don't really know her anymore. All I do know is that I love my sister and I want more time with her. We have wasted so much valuable time. Sisters are forever.
Thank you for this sister poem.

I'm the oldest of 4 sisters. My second sister is fighting breast cancer for the last almost 8 years. Never want to know what it will feel like losing 1 of them. We are sisters we fight and argue but at the end of the day they are my sisters that I love, and God put us together for a reason. Wish the healing can begin for some of us. Life is to short. I love all of you let the healing begin. Evelyn, Sandra, Mary, I love you

I have a little sister who is awesome. I also have another sister who only lived a few minutes. I would cry myself to sleep because I felt cheated out of the chance to be a big sister and hold her in my arms. People may think it hurts more to lose someone you know well, but I'm telling you that it hurts just the same, because now you'll never know what could have been. Whenever I see a little girl the same age she would have been I tear up because I can't help but think of what I almost had.
But to those of you who are going through the same thing, let me just tell you that you will see her again. I promise. And even though it hurts, think about all the trouble you have here in life. If you aren't religious, I'm sorry, but heaven is much better. Just think that she got to skip here. I promise that it will be even better than ok.

I'm the middle child of my two sisters. Even though we fight all the time doesn't mean we hate each other. I still love my sisters. My older sister is an inspiration to me cause she has two jobs and is about to go to college. She helps me with boy problems and is always there when I need her :') She lives in Washington state. I miss her a lot. My little sister is really annoying but that's why I love her. HAHA! I always had to stop their fights. Not anymore. It's over with. The good thing is we will always be in each other's hearts. Forever and always.

We are 3 sisters of which I am the youngest. I was looking for a poem for my sister's 60th birthday and this poem made me cry because it seems as if written specially for us. We have been in an orphanage as children and my oldest sister always had to protect us. She was and still is our mother. She never had the carefree life a child should have. She turns 60 shortly and I was looking for something special to say to her. Thank you for this poem from all three of us!

I'm the eldest of three sisters. I love them both more than life its self and I feel very responsible for them. My middle sister is only three years younger and was always my best friend when we were growing up. She has been addicted to drugs since her mid-teens, we recently fell out because of this and I'm finding it incredibly difficult without her, not knowing where she is or whether she is ok, I miss her so much but I also worry about how she will effect my youngest sister. there's a large age difference, she is barely a teenager and easily influenced, especially by us older sisters. I've tried setting a good example for both of my sisters and so far the youngest seems to be on the straight and narrow, fingers crossed. Wherever my sisters are, whatever they are doing, I love them so much that it hurts and I know that they both love me, nothing will ever change that and this poem gives me hope that one day all three of us will be together again, drug-free, healthy and happy.

A wonderful description of sisters and the bond they share. I am the oldest of 3 sisters and 21 months ago the middle sister was diagnosed with breast cancer. As sisters we shared her journey through all the tests, surgeries, chemo & radiation. On Oct.. 26, 2010 she became a grandmother for the 1st time to a beautiful & healthy baby boy. What a joyous event. I thank god that she lived to experience this.

I'm the third to be born I have 3 brother's and 2 sister's, I just lost my baby sister 21 yrs old and expecting her first child In may by a drunk driver 1-01-10. It's been so hard for me and my family the pain is so deep I never knew my heart can take this much pain she is missed so much . We never imagined that the day after my brother gets married we would be making plans to bury my sister who was so full of life and couldn't wait to be a mom. When I start to cry my three year old say mommy don't cry tia Elaina's in the sky she lives with Jesus don't cry and now all we can do is pray that god gets us through this pain. I wanted to see my sister in a hospital bed holding her son after giving birth instead we laid her to rest with her son on her tummy , life cut short because of a man who got into his SUV, three times the legal limit and drove right into the back of her parked car as they sat and waited for Triple A . I love you sis R.I.P Elaina and baby Romeo

I am the third of four sisters. and this poem says it all. Like all sisters we had our ups and downs but we always knew that we loved each other. I lost my youngest sister in 2002 she was only 45 yrs. old I was completely devastated. Now in 2009 I have lost my remaining sisters one passed away on Jan.16th. and the oldest passed away on Mar. 18th.we had her service yesterday.
It hurts soo bad. Sisters are so special you can tell them things that you can not tell anybody else. So those of you who still have sisters cherish them every day of your lives and never take them for granted because you will not know how much you miss them until they are gone. There is a special place in my heart set aside just for them.

I lost my Mother on Nov.30,2008 and my sisters and I are all so lost. We all live in different states and its so hard dealing with our loss apart. We still manage. But today my middle sister called to chat and BAM! she starts crying because she thought I stopped loving her. Well you know that's wrong but she is missing my Mom so much and things have been going on in both our lives that we haven't been able to do the "sister talking". So this poem has hit the nail on the head. My oldest sister's husband keeps telling her we are going to forget her since Mom is gone. Now that's a horrible thing to say to anyone so again this poem is perfect!!
Thank you

Well, it's not your own story Francis but the story of every girl who is loyal to her family. I'm the oldest of three sisters and your poem expresses exactly how I feel toward them. They are my whole life . I love and respect them even in times of hardship. We sometimes fight, but quickly forgive each other. Believe me I never slept before I kiss them all goodnight.
Thanks Francis for your poem. God bless all sisters who are like you.

I am the middle of the three sisters. all of us are happily married but we still miss the childhood that we spent together. We share a bond that is indefinable and this poem truly speaks my heartfelt emotions for my sisters.
I really wish my elder sister and her just delivered twins (who are under intensive care in the hospital) a speedy recovery, and let her know how I miss being with her at this time of her life.
God Bless
Keep smiling

I am the middle of four sisters and we have three other brothers, I love them all with all my heart and would not trade them for the world even though we may fight and argue, we will always love each other and I will always be there for them.

I am the middle of three sisters, we lost our Mother this year in March, we are sharing looking after our Dad, at present, I think this poem reflects how we fell about each other, and the bond between us, we try to help each other as we unite in grief.

I am also the oldest of three sisters, a Bond so deep you actually feel their pain physically. I lost my sister and nephew also on 10-14-2008 in a tragic car accident, my nephew was 3 and my baby sister 29. I pray God brings you comfort and please do the same for my family. This poem is something only real sisters understand. God Bless.

I am the oldest of three sisters, whom I love very dearly. My youngest sister is going through a very difficult time. Her daughter, was killed September 3, 2008 in a deadly auto accident. She was her only child, 27 yrs old, the same age as my daughter. They grew up together, living on the same street. Our family is so distraught and my heart weeps for our loss and especially for my dear sister. Your poem says it all. Thank you
