The Buggy Ride.

The winter night was freezing cold.
Wooden wheels left tracks on snow .
As they traveled that rugged road .
Held tightly to the woman's breast.
A tiny bundle, they had been blessed.
Wrapped in blankets very tight.
So frosty air could not get inside.
A mothers love swelled in her heart.
She could never do this child harm.
Upon the horizon was their little farm.
Soon they would be by the fire warm.
The tiny bundle lay on the bed .
As she unwrapped his sweet little head.
So still he lay not a sound was made.
Picking him up she began to shake.
All she wanted was to keep him warm.
Now he was cradled so still in her arms
God had taken their baby away.
After that buggy ride that night.
Life for her would not be right.
Her heart was broken her mind was sick.
Morning and grieving day and night.
Winter snow was falling the final day.
When she too went away.
Again she holds her baby tight.
In Gods sweet glowing light.
